If you are a beach lover like me, you are going to love this new stamp set from Stampin Up. Its called Sea of Textures and here is my first card using both the stamps and the matching framelits Under the Sea Framelits. I have used the lovely new Balmy Blue and Mint Macaroon ink colours and of course Whisper White cardstock. Loving this stamp set and may make this card or a similar one at the launch of our new Catalogue on the 3rd June! Wanna come? Call me 0419721561.
Well Monday is here so instead of having the Monday blues I decided to get straight to work in the craft studio and try some things that I have been wanting to do. One project in particular was a conservatory card which I have seen on Pinterest but wanted to put my own spin on it. So here it is! It folds flat and can be written on the back. It uses the acetate sheets and the door and windows are made from the Hearth and Home framelits. The chairs and table are from the Seasonal Framelits and the sentiment is from Just sitting here stamp set as is the pot of flowers on the table. For my first effort I am pretty pleased with it the door is a little crooked but hey I’m no carpenter :)!
Hope you liked today’s project and thanks for stopping by my blog! Please see below for the products used in this project and if you would like to order any of them, please hop on over to my online shop.
Welcome to the weekend! A little chilly here in Brissy this morning but lots to do and unfortunately it won’t be in my craft room. There is a life outside the craft room apparently. Anyway, did a card the other day that I wanted to share with you. I have been suing the Bubble Over Stamp set which coordinates with the Bottles and Bubbles framelits and thought I would make a few cards and bottle tags, as always good to have a few male cards on hand! I used the Bronco colours (for those of you overseas, this is our local football club) but you can use any colours! They had a great win last night so this card is so appropriate for today! Go Broncos!
The sentiment is a little hard to see on the bottom of the card due to my bad photography skills but it says May your day bubble over with happiness!
Have been wanting to try this string technique for a long time now and finally decided to give it a go today. So happy with the end result however it did take a few tries and not the cleanest of techniques but a great result!
I used the lovely new Blackberry Bliss for the flower and used Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves. The leaf stamp is from tranquil tulips (retiring).
Would love to know what you think. Don’t forget if you would like to learn this technique book into one of my technique classes held the second Tuesday morning and evening of the month! Call be to book 0419721561!
I have added a video now but still would love to see you come along to do this in person with me!
Today is the second Monday of the month which means its time for the Coffee and Card class. Another great morning with Sue, Dorothy, Isa and Judy who came today and got down and got their hands inked up well and truly. We had so much fun! Of course the coffee was great too at Round Table Coffee.
The card today was to show just what you can do with our Stampin Up inks and how versatile they are. Lots of ink used and lots got on our hands but that’s all in the fun of stampin. So sorry I forgot to take pics today but here is the card we made.
We used our aqua painters with the ink pads to do the background using crumb cake for the sand, mint macaron for the sea and crushed curry for the sky also used grapefruit grove, stamped off, for the sun. We used old olive for the grass. The lighthouse, sentiment, waves, birds and grass are all from the High Tide stamp set which is a fantastic set for sentiments and great for creating a seaside scene like this card. We used the stamparatus to line up the light house two step stamp! So easy and fun to use. The new shammy also came in very handy to clean the stamps with!
I have a technique class tomorrow at 10am and one at 7pm if you would like to come along please call and book on 0419721561.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fantastic week, until next time,
Mother’s Day tomorrow and you know that Stampin Up is not just about making cards and doing some scrapbooking pages! There are infinite possibilities for giftwrapping those special gifts. Here are a couple of projects I have done and have held classes on and would love to show you how to make any of these if you would like to book into a class!
This gorgeous pink hexagonal box is using the window box thinlets, absolutely adorable and all the hard work is done for you. The blue box is using some beautiful current DSP which is soon to retire but is so easy to make. The triangular gift box is also another popular box. I usually put a beautiful cake of soap inside and give away as hostess gifts!
This coffee mug is surprisingly very easy to make and you can fill will some lovely choccies to give to that special person. How awesome is it to make your own gift box to give away. The tiny box is also very easy to make and the hearts are from the window box thinlets set as seen above in the hexagonal box. If you would like to learn how to make any of these, please call me to book into one of my classes phone Beth 04199721561!
Other projects include, wine bottle holders, gift tags, milk carton boxes, book marks, tea bag holders, desk calendars etc. As well as all types of cards for all types of occasions. All can be personalised as well. If you don’t wish to make any of these, you can place your order for any upcoming special events.
I can also do a box of 10 cards for a variety of occasions for just $25 (plus postage and handling). Place your orders now.
Ok it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday and if you haven’t made your cards here’s a couple of quick and easy ones that anyone can make before Sunday!
Both of these cards are used with stamps alone, no designer series paper or fancy techniques both can be done very easily with products you have at home and not necessarily Stampin Up products. Use your imagination to improvise with what you have. Why not just use a paint brush and brush some ink from your ink pad onto the cardstock to form a background??
Card number one is using white cardstock for the card, Mint Macaron (new colour in Stampin Up) but you can use any colour ink and cardstock you wish. Even if you don’t have the cardstock to match just use the white cardstock and ink still looks lovely!
I have inked an acrylic block with the ink (use piece of plastic of some sort if you don’t have an acrylic block) ink it up and then spritz it with some water (use a water spray bottle that’s all). Then stamp the inked up block onto your white cardstock and it gives a mottled effect. I did this one twice and it has come out a bit dark but still got a water mottled effect in the background. I then just stamped a flower stamp, this one is from the Petal Palette set but you can use any flowery stamp you have and stamped it in black memento ink over the top. I then stamped the sentiment directly onto the card front and added three little pearls at the bottom. Very easy.
Although I have heaps of designer series paper here in the craft studio, I wanted to show how easy it is to create your own backgrounds without the special papers.
Take some small stamps – the ones in sets that you may overlook – these are great for backgrounds! Randomly stamp the card front. In this one I used three little stamps from the Swirly Birds stamp set (flower, stems and dots) and believe it or not I haven’t used these little stamps before and I think they make a great background. For the dots I stamped them off once so that they are a lot lighter in colour. I used Balmy Blue ink and cardstock another new colour in Stampin Up but as I said if you don’t have this colour use any of the colours you have at home.
I tied some white baker’s twine around the card and silver embossed the sentiment in silver embossing powder but if you don’t have any embossing powder just stamp it in black or the same colour ink you used to do your card. I only have the one Mother’s Day sentiment and you know you don’t have to just say Happy Mother’s Day, I thought always thinking of you is just as appropriate. You always write happy mother’s day inside the card anyway! I adhered it on with dimensionals. Another very simple card when you don’t have a lot of time!
Hope you get some ideas from these cards today and I would love to see your Mother’s day cards you have made.
